Renewal by Andersen of Central PA to be Title Sponsor of the PSFCA Big 33 Football Classic
The Pennsylvania Scholastic Football Coaches Association’s (PSFCA) 68th Big 33 Football Classic presented by Renewal by Andersen of Central PA will be played on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at Cumberland Valley High School’s Chapman Field in Cumberland County, Pa.
Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. with the PA Big 33 Team taking on the Maryland Big 33 All Stars.
The PSFCA is proud to assemble an outstanding coaching staff for the 2025 Pennsylvania Team. Led by Coatesville’s Coach Matt Ortega, this group of well-respected coaches will produce another highly skilled group of Pennsylvania’s best football athletes. Assistant coaches for Team PA include Justin Bienkowski (Port Allegany), Chad Brubaker (Spring-Ford), Homer DeLattre (Hollidaysburg), Joe Headen (Susquehanna Twp), Jon LeDonne (Pine-Richland), Jim McCarroll (Pocono Mt. West), Jesse Shay (Red Lion).
Under the leadership of the Pennsylvania Scholastic Football Coaches Association, Cumberland County, the Commonwealth of PA and various sponsors are partnering to support the PSFCA Big 33 Football Classic presented by Renewal by Andersen. This exciting football match up has been described as the “Super Bowl of High School Football,” and has chosen a team since 1957. On being selected to lead Team Pennsylvania in the 68th Football Classic, Coach Ortega stated, “Being chosen as the 2025 Big 33 Head Football Coach is a huge honor for me, my family, and for all players and coaches who have played and worked for me for the last 27 football seasons. I look forward to leading these talented athletes as we showcase their skills and passion for the game on this grand stage.”

He, along with the other outstanding coaches, will join a talented group of all-star athletes yet to be selected. The rosters for the Big 33 Football Classic, along with those for the Titan Threadz PSFCA East/West All-Star games will be announced on the PSFCA website on February 14, 2025. East/West Games will take place on Sunday, May 18, 2025 (1-3A Small Schools at Noon / 4-6A Big Schools at 5 p.m.)
Some well-known Big 33 alumni and NFL greats include: Joe Namath, Joe Montana, Dan Marino, Jim Kelly, Ricky Watters, Tony Dorsett, Ben Roethlisberger, Kyle Brady, Jordan Hill, Miles Sanders and Damar Hamlin. The Big 33 experience extends beyond the game, as it provides opportunities for the entire community. In addition to the football players and coaches, it includes All-Star Cheerleaders, Big 33 Host Families, Big 33 Youth Clinics, Big 33 Girls Flag Football, Military Appreciation, and an esteemed Big 33 Buddy Program. The Buddy Program is designed to partner youth with special needs with a Big 33 cheerleader or football player. All buddies enjoy time with their players and cheerleaders during Big 33 weekend and participate in year-round special Buddy events, thanks to UPMC.
